(LG SERIES OF PHONES LAUNCHING) Second generation Optimus L Series makes Philippine debut LG Electronics unveils upgraded version of widely successful mobile phone line

Consumer electronics giant LG marks a new milestone in the local mobile technology scene with the launch of the new Optimus L SeriesII.

The second generation of the widely successful Optimus L Style Series is considered a bolder version of its predecessor which is known for its sleek and stylish designs coupled with advanced Android technology. The original L Style Series units sold more than 10 million units worldwide in the first 10 months since it was released.

Nina Gregorius, marketing manager for LG Mobile Communications, said, “The L SeriesII celebrates LG’s rich design heritage complemented by new and updated functional innovations. The design philosophy focuses on timeless and progressive designs that seamlessly fit into the contemporary lifestyle of our users.”

The L SeriesII, composed of the L3II, L5II, and L7II, will feature four new design elements: seamless layout that blends graceful contours and solid edges for better grasp; laser cut contour that wraps the uni-body design with fine details and a slimming look; radiant rear design which gives the unit a simple and clean front that naturally flows into the back casing; and smart LED lighting on the home button which emits a subtle glow for an intimate yet edgy look.

Beefed up features

Aside from a more cutting edge look, the L SeriesII offers an expanded set of user-convenient features including those unique to LG smartphones such as QuickMemo, Quick Button and Safety Care.

QuickMemo allows users to capture and share handwritten ideas with others using just a fingertip. Quick Button enables customers to personalize a hotkey to launch any application such as the camera, browser, music player or even QuickMemo. Safety Care offers three options—emergency call forwarding, phone non-usage notice and my location notice—which can be programmed to contact family or friends in case of an emergency.

Another LG-exclusive feature is the Cheese Shutter—a voice activated camera trigger that eliminates the need for pushing a button. It works with any pre-defined command (“cheese”, “smile”, “whisky”) on both the front and rear cameras. This feature is ideal for spontaneous camera-worthy moments that are oftentimes missed when one has to manually locate the trigger button.

User experience is also enhanced with the high-resolution IPS display and extended capacity battery. Like its predecessor, the L SeriesII also allows users to seamlessly switch between two networks with just one phone.

Fresh faces

During the trade launch at the SM Mall of Asia main mall atrium, LG will formally introduce three new celebrity influencers for the company’s local mobile division.

Actor-model-singer Paulo Avelino is the new face of LG Mobile while actress-model-blogger Maxene Magalona joins Ateneo Blue Eagle point guard and model Keifer Ravena as brand ambassador for the second generation Optimus L SeriesII.

“Paulo, Maxene and Keifer represent a dynamic vibe which is what the L SeriesII is all about,” Gregorius explained. “They are young, successful, go-getting individuals and they embody the kind of brilliance and confidence that defines our product.”

During the event, an on-the-spot sale will also be held from 5:00PM to 6:00PM wherein a P2,000.00 markdown will be implemented for all L SeriesII smartphones.

The mobile lifestyle choice

Gregorius added, “Our new L SeriesII line-up is the product of a careful research and design process which reflects contemporary aesthetics and innovations that reflect our rich design heritage and strong position as a global technology leader. The first generation Optimus L Style Series has helped us gain solid ground in the mobile landscape and we are confident that we can keep that momentum.”

The Optimus L SeriesII will also come in dual SIM versions and will be available in all LG Mobile Concept Stores/Kiosks and Official Dealers nationwide this May 2013. For more information, visit http://facebook.com/LGOptimusPH.
