AIR ASIA ASEAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE LAUNCHES SCHOOL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

ASEAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE OFFICERS AND PLAYERS
The  AirAsia ASEAN Basketball  League (ABL) has launched its very own internship  program in order to spur the development of sports and education in the region. Aimed at developing the skills and talents of  ASEAN youths, the internship programs gives the opportunity for students to gain professional experience and prepare them for the working world once they graduate.
Present at the event were Kuhan Foo, Chief Executive Officer of the AirAsia ASEAN Basketball League and Dr. Michael Romero, team  owner  of the AirAsia Philippine Patriots.
The internship program  will  serve  as a platform for ASEAN youths to gain valuable working experiences and at the same time develop their skills and talents. By being part of the internship program, these students will be exposed to the inner workings    of a professional basketball league and a corporation.
Kuhan Foo, Chief Executive Officer of the ABL elaborated that , “It has always been part of the ASEAN Basketball League to make a difference in the region. We want to show that sports, music and education can be merged together to reach out the youth of ASEAN. We are also glad that AirAsia is also supporting us with the program as this will give the students additional insight to what it is like to work in a regional platform so they will be prepared when they enter the workforce.
Team owner of the AirAsia  Philippine Patriots, Dr. Mikee Romero added, ”The arena of sports presents many career opportunities  that have been overlooked or which have not given due attention. With ABL, it is our intent to open these new career venues that would also converge in the direction pointing to overall  growth of  sports in the region”.

Jr. NBA WITH LOS ANGELES LAKERS LEGEND A C GREEN

NBA LEGEND AC GREEN TO JOIN 2011 JR. NBA CAMP IN MANILA
NBA Legend and a former member of Showtime Los Angeles Lakers of the 1980s, AC Green, will be coming to Manila in April to lead the Jr. NBA National Training Camp. Green, who won three Championships with the Los Angeles Lakers and is a member of the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame, will be making his first trip to the Philippines as part of this year’s Jr. NBA program.
