Canon PIXMA is the top inkjet printer for 2012

The IDC (International Data Corporation) recently announced that Canon PIXMA is the Philippine’s No. 1 Inkjet Printer Brand from 2012 based on unit sales. It is the second year in the row for Canon PIXMA Printers to achieve the No. 1 Market Share position in unit sales since 2011.

IDC said that Canon dominated the total inkjet printer industry in 2012, commanding a market share of 45%. Aside from leading in the whole industry composed of SFP (Single Function Printers) and MFP (Multi Function Printers), Canon PIXMA also topped the SFP category with a staggering 52% share.  In the MFP category, Canon PIXMA grabs an impressive 39% share.

Canon posted significant growth of 30% in the SFP Category while posting a 14% growth in the MFP Category. Both categories experienced a 13% decline versus 2011 for the total industry.

The Canon PIXMA iP2770 Single Function Printer (SRP: P2,195) known for its quality, versatility and affordability was also the top selling Single Function Printer for the first three quarters of 2012.  The Canon PIXMA MP287 (SRP: P3,495) and the PIXMA E500 (SRP: P3,995) also came out as top selling multi-function printers for the same period of time.

“The achievement of the No. 1 Market Share position for Canon PIXMA Printers in the Philippines for two consecutive years can be attributed to the synergy of our efforts in all aspects of business—in sales, in marketing, and in service support—all of which revolves around Canon’s Customer Delight philosophy,” said Bong Serevo, vice president and CSP (Consumer Systems Products) division head of Canon Marketing Philippines. “Contributing to Canon brand success are our ink-efficient MFP/fax models, the best-selling Canon PIXMA E510 and Canon PIXMA E600, designed for the cost- and quality-conscious consumer. Helping us to communicate these messages of efficiency and professional quality are our PIXMA Brand Ambassadors:  Mr. Jo Avila, Mr. Per-Andre Hoffmann, and Mr. Jun Miranda, renowned and award-winning professional photographers who have greatly helped educate our pro market,” Serevo added.

“Our valued business partners and resellers have also been instrumental in our success; their trust and support in the brand have allowed us to dominate sales these past two years,” Serevo concludes.

Avila, Hoffmann, and Miranda have been touring the country along with the Canon team conducting free printing seminars entitled “Print Like A Pro” in order to educate photographers on the proper methods of printing their photos with Canon PIXMA Pro Printers.

Recently, Canon PIXMA re launched their marketing campaign “Don’t Just Print. Imprint.”, which promotes the importance of printing work and photos with the highest quality printers in order to achieve success in the various facets of life.  Featuring actual users of PIXMA Printers, the campaign also highlights the value added features of the printers, such as the Fun Filter Effects, which allows one to put DSLR worthy effects on their photos; HD Movie Print, which allows one to print stills from HD Movies taken from Canon cameras; and My Image Garden, which will surely delight users in this image-crazy society.
