The  AirAsia ASEAN Basketball  League (ABL) has launched its very own internship  program in order to spur the development of sports and education in the region. The internship program  will  serve  as a platform for ASEAN youths to gain valuable working experiences and at the same time develop their skills and talents. By being part of the internship program, these students will be exposed to the inner workings    of a professional basketball league and a corporation.
Kuhan Foo, Chief Executive Officer of the ABL elaborated that , “It has always been part of the ASEAN Basketball League to make a difference in the region. We want to show that sports, music and education can be merged together to reach out the youth of ASEAN. We are also glad that AirAsia is also supporting us with the program as this will give the students additional insight to what it is like to work in a regional platform so they will be prepared when they enter the workforce.
Team owner of the AirAsia  Philippine Patriots, Dr. Mikee Romero added, ”The arena of sports presents many career opportunities  that have been overlooked or which have not given due attention.
