On
its 35th year, Jollibee continues to fortify its commitment to the Filipino family
with a bigger and expanded Jollibee Family Values Awards (JFVA). Now on its
third year, the JFVA pays tribute to five exemplary families nationwide who embody
cherished Filipino values and serve as an inspiration to others through their
good deeds.
For
the first time this year, the search will also be open to OFW families across
the globe via the Jollibee-Coca-Cola Global Pinoy Family of the Year award.
“Kindheartedness,
generosity, and love for others—these are just some of the qualities that make
many Filipino families stand out from the rest,” said Jollibee Vice President
for Marketing Harvey T. Ong. “What better way to mark our 35th year
milestone than to continue to pay tribute to Filipino families who have gone
out of their way to help other people in their communities. The JFVA is our
primary vehicle to inspire even more families to make a difference.”
The
3rd JFVA was launched recently at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria,
through a forum entitled “Growing up with a Purpose: Social Awareness Begins in
Every Pinoy Home”. Media guests and representatives from the social groups were
engaged in a timely and relevant discussion that tackled the important role
that families, especially parents, play in shaping good-hearted individuals who
make a positive change and enrich the lives of others.
Sharing
their insights at the forum were members of the 3rd JFVA Board of
Judges - Overseas Workers Welfare
Administration (OWWA) Administrator Carmelita Dimzon; Public Affairs and
Communications Director of The Coca-Cola Corporation Atty. Adel Tamano;
inspirational speaker and corporate trainer Francis Kong; broadcast journalist
Karen Davila; parenting and relationship consultant Maribel Sison-Dionisio; and
Chaplain and Chair of the Management Committee for Public Service
Integration of ABS-CBN Fr. Tito Caluag
S.J. Other members of the Board of Judges include Department of Social Welfare
and Development (DSWD) Secretary Dinky Soliman; Jollibee Group Foundation
President Grace A. Tan Caktiong; TV
host Christine Jacob-Sandejas; Jollibee Foods Corporation Country HR Head
Theresa Jotie; and Jollibee Vice President for Marketing Harvey Ong.
Last year, the 2nd Jollibee Family Values
Awards received more than 1,000 nominations from all over the country. Winners
