The 10th SM Bowling Cup was recently held at the SM Bowling lane at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City where 24 qualifiers as young as 12 years old to as old as 62 year old Lolo coming from different parts of our country competed in the finals.
During the gruelling event, the bowlers battled it out on the bowling lane to grab the much-coveted prize of having a brand new Chevrolet Cruze that is worth almost a million pesos. With all the striking, misses, hurrahs and good thing no boohhs…..Mr. Ruel B. Parma an employee of Manila Peninsula Hotel won the championship round by scoring a 262 point with only a slight margin to Heber Alqueza who is the first runner-up who garnered 237 points in the final round. Having only a 25-point difference, Heber Alqueza, a 15 year old and a 3rd year high school student from Pardo Cebu pointed out his disappointment of having an injury on the side part of his right palm when he miscalculated one of his throws that causes him to commit an error during the crucial final game that landed him to the 1st runner-up position.
SM Bowling Cup tournament has been there for over a decade and has produced champions like Vener Sales, Letty Pineda and Jhong Enriquez who is now a member of Philippine bowling team.
The 10th SM Bowling Cup is presented by SM Bowling Center and co-presented by Chevrolet Cars, the fastest car manufacturer in the world and also by Boysen paints and Accel. And please watch out for the 11th SM Bowling Cup that will be held in the near future.
